Peter Olof Swartz: born 1760 in Norrköping, student in Uppsala 1778, MD 1785, keeper and the first to possess the professorship at the Bergian school of gardening in Stockholm 1791, curator of the collections at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences from 1806, secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences from 1811, professor in botany and natural-history at "Chirurgiska skolan" (the present "Karolinska institutet") in Stockholm 1813, dead 1818 in Stockholm.
