Pehr Löfling: Born in 1729 on Tolvfors bruk in Valbo parish in Gästrikland, Sweden. Student in Uppsala in 1743. Bachelor's degree and candidate of medicine in 1750. Professor in Madrid, Spain in 1751. Botanical journeys in Portugal and Spain in 1751-53 and in northern South America in 1754-56.
