Johann Gerhard König: born in 1728 in Ungerhof, in polish Livland, private pupil of Linnaeus in 1757, lived in Denmark 1759-1767, naturalist at the nabob in Arcot, India 1773-1785, Danish medical missionary in Tranquebar, India 1773-1785, dead in Jagrenatporum near Tranquebar, India, 1785.
