Olof Celsius: born 1670 in Uppsala, Sweden, master's degree 1694, subject teacher at Uppsala university 1699, professor of Greek language 1703 and of eastern languages 1715, vicar in Börje from 1707, doctor of theology 1719, professor of theology 1727, dean in Uppsala 1736, member of the Science society in Uppsala and the Royal Swedish Academy of Science, interested in botany, compiled Flora Uplandica, dead 1756 in Uppsala.
