Peter Jonas Bergius Born 1730 in Erikstad in Vittaryd parish in Småland, Sweden. Student in Lund 1746 and in Uppsala 1749, defended an academic dissertation under Linnaeus in 1750, and took his M. D. degree in 1754. Practised medicine in Stockholm 1754-1761, appointed professor of natural history and pharmacy at Collegium Medicum 1761. Died in Stockholm 1790.
